Falling In Love with 'Namma' Chennai.... A North Indian affair

Living in a place, lovingly called 'Namma Chennai'...

This post is a part of an initiative by Chennai Bloggers’ Club; a Facebook community for like minded bloggers. Around 30 odd bloggers are writing about, What Chennai Means to Them. The previous post in this series was by  Sandhya Iyer - who writes about things close to her heart, thrives on coffee and chocolates. (Click here to read the post...)

East Coast Road

It was a different world from Delhi, when I came to Chennai in 1994 - different culture, outlook and  life style. But over the year Chennai’s beautiful sensibility and style seeped into me and now its ‘Namma Chennai”. Here is ‘what makes me, love Chennai’ through the lens of my camera...

Shooting of Cheran's Movie in progress in our Apartment Premises

And... the incessant rains, when it rains
Numerous Temple's tucked in almost all corners of Chennai...
Give way to celebrations of North Indian festicals like Diwali, with
Sounth Indian Kollam...

... and it feels like home, with Durga Puja celebration, which
many Bengali associations organise

And ofcourse friends around to give you that Holi Touch

Many cultural programs in Chennai like this one of Abida Praveen,
ensures that you are still connected to North

And then the opportunity like this one, where you get to shoot with Cheran
for a film...

And lunch with visiting Gernman friends on the beach.... makes me fall
in love with Namma Chennai.

I just wish, the cooum river will change to make Namma Chennai truly
beatiful.
Please do check the Next CBC Tag post by Sibi, the common man who blogs about the nation in his point of view in http://sibiadhithya.blogspot.in/ I look forward to his wise thoughts on "Namma Chennai" in this series... so over to you, my friend.
