Journey from Past life
To the Future; has been a Present
Revelation of love
__
You paint love
All over my body
With red hues of wet desires
__
Your lips, whisper
Poetry over my senses
Passionate words tattoo my skin
__
I wrote the first part (In Italics) more than a decade ago, which came back to me with an answer, which is the last part of the verse below (In Italics again). In between I have put the living… hope you like it.
Memories from living
Small brush with feelings
Takes a long time
To fade
On the lips
Or on the memories of life
As the moments flow
Towards a destiny that is neither there
Nor here
But within - all at once
There is no path
Just the shadows of desires
That my mind dreams of
Tearing-up my living
Into pieces of past and future.
Mind is bleeding memories
And dreams
Lost in the wilderness of my being
I search for you
For a path of actualizing me
There is none
Past is a memory
Future, just a dream
Present is what exists
Without you – Lifeless
There is no where to go
I am already ‘am’ - That is it
Stars of the deepest sky, know
What is right to happen
When and how
We just need to trust the flow
And let ourselves go

Aaahhhmazing!! I have often wondered if life would hold the same meaning if it didn't have anything/anyone "special" in it... and I found it difficult to answer this one, cuz I found it difficult to even imagine it!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, we live on... hoping to make it thru'.. just as we like it...
You have expressed all of this so effortlessly in your poem here, Shashi.. I admire your ability to translate your musings so beautifully into poetry..
Shashi, I notice an emphasis on body art in your first poems, in lines of love poetry that emphasis skin and the senses. In Memories of Living. interesting that this is a poem you revisit. I am glad you did. With that information, I think it made my reading of it all the more powerful, especially the part "There is no where to go / I am already ‘am’ - That is it" Speaks of that immediacy of "the now," yet not without prior influence. Wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to visit today. Your poetry is so infused with spirituality that it is like praying in a beautiful manner.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful visit, I am so glad I stopped by today :)
ReplyDeleteWe appear to be on the same path..only that you are far ahead..and I am happy that you do look back occasionally to find me there.. flow is what it is.. Happy to have read it..
ReplyDelete(sigh) your writings help me to experience the now, this one included. Such a wonderful, simple message. thank you.
