WHISPERS: One night of life time...

Sunset is clouded by pain
Hides behind
Lost happiness
__

You really know, how deep is your love
When you loose her
In few words
__

Life in little steps of love
Falling, leaving, goodbyes and then denial
Happiness bleeds in little steps
__

One night of a life time
__________
The night went on and on
Some times in words
Some times in thoughts
Some times the silence
Took over the lightness of our being
And soared above our dreams

A life time to spend
A life time to walk
A life time to share
And a life time to talk

The night’s window
Fluttered open
The gate way to our stars in the sky
The Milky Way bridged the night
To the morning light
And she said to wake her up
To say good bye
How sad it is, that I did

Now
That hug
And our clasped hands
That took her away
Still lasts in me, eternally
As my heart echoes, on and on
Don’t go, my love, don’t go so far

  1. The loneliness and severance of parting, but also the beauty and warmth of the night shared. Peace even in the pain. A beautiful write.

  2. I'm reminded of years ago when I had to say goodbye to my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) before leaving for the military. It was but one night, walking an old dirt road under a starlit sky, but it seemed like we shared a lifetime in those few hours before saying goodbye. That really touched me.

  3. Such emotion in well stated lines, Shashi. One night of a life time is an excellent poem. My favorite of your writing this week was one of the stanzas before the second poem... "Life in little steps of love" excellent how the remainder of it reads like steps taken. Always enjoy reading your work. Cheers, my friend.

I know this feeling all to well. You captured it beautifully in words! However, I truly enjoyed this poem in its entirety! Pure emotions radiate from this piece and you can feel the steps taken, one by one, to achieve such love and sadness.

  38. My favourite stanza is:

The night went on and on
    Some times in words
    Some times in thoughts
    Some times the silence

especially the last line ... the silence.

Bidding farewell to someone dear is both beautiful and sad. To be sad is a privilege of being human. Just imagine if we could not feel sad.
