Just after retirement he decided to pen down his memoirs of 35 years, which was a unique journey from Guwahati to Machhiwara. The story is based on the events around his banking life. He says that the biggest challenge in writing this collection of memoirs was how to pen down his memories, spanning decades. It took him more than one year to edit his book. All the 20 stories were edited more than 5 or 6 times to make them readable. The grammatical mistakes & spelling errors consumed a lot of time to rectify. But to see his book in print was a dream, not only his but also of his family, so he followed his passion with diligence and perseverance. And here is the result. BRIEF NOTE ABOUT THE AUTHOR
On the day of his Retirement as Senior Manager of Punjab & Sind Bank, Rajiv Bakshi decided all of a sudden to pen down his memoirs of 35 years starting from Guwahati in North Eastern India to Machhiwara a historical place in Ludhiana District. He started writing about diverse happenings, places & events revolving around his life and official career as a Banker that affected him substantially. Rajiv showed first signs of creativity when he was 8 and continues to write poems and short stories. His creative interest was seen in full flow, post retirement, when his interest found expression in the form of this Book.
Apart from his interest in writing, travel & Sun Signs he loves to explore different countries and their cuisines.
HIS INSPIRATIONS
The common people I meet in bus, train, airplane and on Journey, inspire me to write. A small incident becomes a plot of my story: which can be comedy, tragedy, wit or humor.
