WHISPERS: Swan Song

Dark clouds have rained and gone
You smile, in burst of rainbow, across sky
In deluge of pain, I smile too
__

Love stands
Like the lotus in the pond
Unattached, Alone, Deflowered
___

SWAN SONG
(–noun the last act or manifestation
of someone or something;
farewell appearance)
__________________
Lotus pond
Waits
Silently
Lotus flowers too

Pink petals -hesitatingly
Unfurl, heron silently stare
Life unfolding,
In the morning mist

Boddhi tree floated, a message
Of life,
In the falling leaf
On the temple floor

Breeze stood still
Music of Flute stopped playing
In the bamboo grove
Swan has started singing its song

Life, lives in little steps of love
But love bleeds life
In little steps, too
Falling, leaving and dying

Swan is singing
Its swan song
Time does not know,
It has come

Deep in the temple
Buddha Smiles
Nothing is forever
Forever is nothing

  6. Your swan song is a beauty, with some lovely shots to boot. Serenity in the images, both in the poem and in the pictures themselves; thoughtful and well-written. Nicely done.

  20. This whole poem rings very philosophical to me.
    Time does not know,
    It has come

Yes time really does not know ... as its neutral, no feelings, no emotions just eternal motion, unstopped, uncared.... just like water, as you say, its we who color it with our senses..

  29. Lovely verse. Melancholy and thought provoking. This was my favorite part:
Life, lives in little steps of love
    But love bleeds life
    In little steps, too
    Falling, leaving and dying

Thanks for your nice comment at Life is Good.

  33. This was exquisite
    "deep in the temple..."
    not just in the temple
    weight to every word
    which stirred deep within me
    wonderful images
    ...restraint made into art

    ReplyDelete
  34. "Life, lives in little steps of love
    But love bleeds life
    In little steps, too"

I liked these lines especially, how the two, love and life, are so intertwined, they bleed each other. So true--love and life--they are one. And the swan's song becomes a beautiful celebration of the One who first loved us and gave us life...and will sustain us forever after we leave this earth.

You are a beautiful writer! Blessings to you. :)

  36. Dear Suz
Many of the times, writers like us, have special affinity to some thoughts in any of the works and I am glad that you picked one of them so beautifully close to my own thoughts about the word "Deep". I am grateful to you for visiting and liking this one and hope you will again. I value your comments and look forward to it...
    thanks.

  37. Dear Melissa

You hit the nail on the head. Your take on this verse is so beautiful, that I was wondering whether you could have done a better job on this, than me. I think, you would have.

I am grateful for your blessings and hopefully, in coming day learn to write more beautifully as I am just a learner... and I learn a lot from interacting with talent like yours on the various blogs. Thanks for your blessings again and look forward to your visit again as I value your words so much...

  38. Beautiful - the images painted by the words mingle with the images themselves. I am not sure what I can add that others have not previously stated... just beautiful.

  39. beautiful collection it seems of Haikus Shashi,as the last part is central to the CORE as this is the Soul which all emanates from the center which is basically nothing but allowance for things to be possible in and manifested from..a known subjective reality from teh Divine..enjoy as well(+)
