WHISPERS: Dreams, desires and drifting apart

DRIFT WOOD

One by one
All desires
Are stripped off
Plucked
Petal by petal
Time leaves the imposter hope
Deflowered, naked
Bleeding on the ground

Where are you?
I am lost in wishes
Soft
And neutral self
Drifting
Apart

A SOUL AROUND MINE

Holding on to the sands of time
Running between fingers
I feel lost and light
My eyes hold on to the memories
The togetherness
And the tears

Some where, the time
Smiles
And my heart skips few more beats

My dear,
Can you hold on to me?
Till I close my eyes, and sleep
And find you within my dream
In me, and
A soul around mine

SOME JUST DON’T DREAM

The waves reached out to me
Tapped my shoulder
And asked,
“Are you with her now?”
I said,
"Yes"

Sea, then, moved closer
Setting sun stopped setting
Breeze stood still
Sea gull froze, pinned up in the sky, still
As the waves, went ahead and said,

"Can you please ask her
To come out of your dreams
And see us too”
“The thing is”, as the receding waves continued,
“We are missing her too
And you know what,
We don’t dream like you”

  5. Delightful creations. The pictures, too--some beautiful shots. The first is profound investigation; the second, sweet and longing; the third, I must agree with Brian--such playful fun. Particularly loved the ending of the last: "We don't dream like you." Splendid.

  15. The last one made me cry.I just lost a dear person just recently, your last poem made me think of her.And I have a particularly close relationship with the sea.

Thank you so much for sharing. The pics you used are beautiful.I tend to connect words with the pics used, and yours blended beautifully!

  16. Do all these pieces fit together to make a whole? The object seems to be the same in all three pieces and the love you hold for her is beautiful. I like the beseeching quality of asking her to wait until he can find her in his dreams. A wonderful sentiment

  17. I like the imagery of the last one too - very nice one shot

  18. Dear June
I am sorry for your loss, but then remember it is not always a loss... some times you gain too, in many different dimensions, you just dont know it yet.
Sea, as I believe as well as in our Hindu philosophy too, is source of energy, positive vibrations... and I do personally believe strongly it to be a very powerful carrier of thoughts... so I am attached to it in many ways... just like you...have very up close and personal relationship with it.... and lucky to be staying in a coastal city in India. Probably, the only water body that can come be more powerful than the Sea is Holy River Ganges...
thanks for liking those pictures.. Each one I have taken after cherishing those moments personally and most of the time I carry camera to share those moments with friends like you...
thanks for being here and look forward to hearing more from you...

  19. Dear KKRige
Well I am glad that you liked these verses and very happy that you could actually relate all of them together.. I usually keep writing where I am and then once in every fortnight I post them here... and yes they are clubbed together as a thought.. and as you can see, this one is closely related with each other and that is why the heading as "Dreams, Desires and Drifting apart"
I believe and know that Love as an absolute things is the most beautiful and exquisite thing that exists within the human kind... every love is beautiful...
Some times, the heart speaks out loud...

  26. Although I felt they were all good, I enjoyed the first one, Drift Wood; “One by one, All desires, Are stripped off, Plucked, Petal by petal”. This immediately set the picture in my mind and that is what I enjoy most about poetry – the mental imagery. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Dave

  30. "Time leaves the imposter hope
    Deflowered..."

You paint such beautiful images with your words... lovely poem. A pleasure to read.

  31. Beautiful... the first one tugged at my heart.... hope, an imposter, naked and bleeding on the ground.... this is so sad... I want to pick him up, clothe him , heal his wounds... such great imagery!
In the 2nd I like the notion of one soul around another in our dreams...lovely thought
In the 3rd, I really liked the idea of having a conversation with a wave in the ocean and his remark on missing this person and not dreaming in the same way to help the character let go... well done. Thanks ever so much for sharing ... I enjoyed reading these.... :) heartspell

  33. I don't know what I could add after so many lovely comments on your beautiful poetry. I liked all three and am so happy to have found your blog.

I also see things with my lens of spirituality. Only recently have I discovered expression through poetry and I know I want to read more of yours.

  34. Like Myrna I dont know what else to add except I love 'A soul around me' It speaks to me....

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dear Helena

Thanks for liking this one about the "Imposter Hope" ... if you see, the idea of Hope being an imposter came from the thought that we, most of the times, live our unhappy time in the hope of good times that may come... and whether it comes or not, the hope just becomes an imposter for us to survive...
look forward to your visit again...

    ॐ नमः शिवाय
    Om Namah Shivaya

  36. Dear Heartspell... thanks for liking this one... It is a sad thought and enjoyed your words about healing the wounds that this verse conveys...

The second was about finding in one's soul, the soul mate around you... I am happy that you could see that with that verse...

I love sea, its a powerful source of energy for me and yes some times the waves do talk to me... (Ok I am not yet crazy enough to be certified, but yes, if you really sit down on the sand, watch the waves move, reaching out and then not finding you attuned, receding back, you will be able to talk...;-) ) You guessed it right, the verse was about the feeling of "letting go"

thanks for your amazing comments.. I am grateful that you took so much time to read, analyse and comment.. I look forward to your visit again...

  39. Dear Myrna

Thanks for being here.. and I am happy that you liked it and look forward to your visit more often...
Interestingly, when I visit your blog, your interest in spirituality caught my eye too... if you browse through this blog, you will find that most of the things are related to spirituality... specially, the verse, poetry (These are very powerful ways and tools of exploring and experiencing spirituality )and many of the books which I have liked and I have written about... I am not sure how much you know about Hindu Religious scriptures like Veda's Purana's or Bhagawat Gita... but they can be read as an explanation about life in general...(That is the beauty of Hindu Philosophy as its inclusive... and not forced upon) specially I would recommend you two posts, from the archives, which I am giving you a link here... one is "From mind to Super Mind" which takes the Bhagawat Gita as its back ground and then relates how one can become conscious of higher mental level... here is the link for that....

    http://shadowdancingwithmind.blogspot.com/2010/05/book-from-mind-to-super-mind-commentary.html

Second is an excerpt from the Patanjali's Yoga Sutra (Patanjali is the Saint who gave yoga to the world... all types of yoga which is prevalent know has the origin in this book)

    http://shadowdancingwithmind.blogspot.com/2010/07/reader-basis-of-all-yoga-practices-in.html

Actually I would also recommend to read Richard Bach's book Illusion that have influenced me a lot... here is the link for that too...

    http://shadowdancingwithmind.blogspot.com/2010/05/reader.html

I hope I have not flooded you, but these are the links where you can get the gist of the books and what I liked in that book.. so you dont have to read all of it in one go... and if you prefer to read more you can take that book...
